Foods to Avoid Feeding Your Furbaby

By August 26, 2014 March 16th, 2021 No Comments

While it’s always a good idea to keep your dog’s intake dedicated to their specific food, it can sometimes be difficult to avoid the temptation of feeding your dog human food; spoiling is fun! In the event that you want to indulge your pup or kitten, keep in mind that these specific foods can be highly toxic:

Foods
Alcoholic beverages
Avocado
Chocolate (all forms)
Coffee (all forms)
Fatty foods
Macadamia nuts
Moldy or spoiled foods
Onions, onion powder
Raisins and grapes
Salt
Yeast dough
Garlic
Products sweetened with xylitol

Further, some human medications and household solutions can be potentially lethal to pets, even in small doses. These include:
Pain killers
Cold medicines
Anti-cancer drugs
Antidepressants
Vitamins
Diet Pills

Cold Weather Hazards:
Antifreeze
Liquid potpourri
Ice melting products
Rat and mouse bait

Common Household Hazards:
Fabric softener sheets
Mothballs
Post-1982 pennies (due to high concentration of zinc)

Your furry loved ones benefit from a healthy lifestyle as much as you do.
