This month’s sitter spotlight is on: Britt P.

Britt has been with Chicago Pet Sitters for over a year. In addition to caring for our Lincoln Park clients, Britt is studying to become a high school French teacher. Can you say Bon Chien?

Favorite color?
Yellow

Favorite food?
Anything with potatoes: Fries, hash browns, baked potatoes, mashed potatoes, potato salad…the list goes on.

Coffee or tea?
Definitely Tea. I strongly dislike coffee.

What is your favorite movie?
The Sound of Music is my favorite movie EVER. I’ve seen it at least 50 times and it will never get old.

What is your favorite breed of dog and why?
Pugs hold a special place in my heart. I had the sweetest pug when I was a kid and she was THE BEST.

Where did you live before Chicago and what brought you to the city?
I grew up in Canton, Ohio. I originally moved to Chicago after college for a job. When I decided to go to grad school, I knew I wanted to stay here because I loved the city too much!

What is one of your favorite things about the city?
There is so much to do in Chicago! I have been here for almost four years now and I’m still finding new things to do right in my own neighborhood.

Your favorite hangout spot / restaurant in the city?
I discovered DryHop in Lakeview when I first moved to the city. To this day, it’s still one of my favorite spots to grab dinner and a drink.

What is something about you that might surprise people when they find out?
I’m pretty fluent in French! I’m currently in grad school to become a high school French teacher.

When you aren’t walking dogs or visiting with cats, how do you like to spend your time?
When I’m not walking dogs, I’m usually playing around on my keyboard. I hated piano lessons as a kid, but I’m so thankful now because it’s one of my favorite hobbies! I also love exploring new restaurants around town with my friends.

What is your favorite thing about being a dog walker with Chicago Pet Sitters?
I love working with with CPS because I get to hang out with dogs ALL DAY. Plus, all the dogs I walk are amazing. It’s been so much fun getting to know each of their personalities.

What is one of the oddest thing you find yourself saying to the dogs you walk?
I feel like I’m always congratulating the dogs after they do their business. I’ve very enthusiastic about it. “Great job, buddy! Now we can tell Mom you pooped!”

What do you think is your best quality as a dog walker?
I think I’m very dependable, especially when it comes to working with pets. I love all of them so much and I’m so happy to be someone all of our dog-parents can trust.

What is something you strive to accomplish while with your dog clients?
I definitely strive to give our clients the best possible experience as a pet sitter. It’s always great to hear that a client loved their dog’s pictures or notes from that day!

What has been your proudest moment working with Chicago Pet Sitters?
Some of my proudest moments working with CPS have been hearing from our clients that their dogs absolutely love me! It’s such a privilege to hang out with dogs all day and it’s so encouraging to hear that I’m the dog’s favorite part of the day!
